Steve reich – Phasing

starting in unison and slowly going out of phase, which is really a variation of the old western technique of canon

you have a piece of melodic material which is played against itself but displaced rhythmically. so everything is coming out of one module or melody, but its rhythmic displacement causes this canon to happen.
